What is "Diminished Quality of Life" relating to auto accident cases?

Ohio Auto Accident

"Diminished Quality of Life" refers to the negative impact on a person's overall well-being and daily functioning after an auto accident. This concept encompasses both physical and emotional aspects of a victim's life that have been adversely affected by the injuries sustained in the accident.

In a civil compensation case, "Diminished Quality of Life" is considered when calculating non-economic damages. These damages aim to compensate victims for the intangible losses they've suffered, beyond just medical expenses and lost wages. Courts and insurance companies evaluate the extent to which the accident has altered the victim's lifestyle, emotional well-being, and ability to enjoy life.
