Columbus Police report that a Canal Winchester man was seriously injured in a January 24th crash in Franklin County. Musa Naite, 54, of Canal Winchester was travelling westbound on Morse Rd. when his vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle attempted to turn left. Jesus Rodriguez-Nieto, 45, of New Albany was cited by Police for failure to yield on a left hand turn.
Mr. Naite was transported by EMS to Riverside for treatment of serious injuries. Rodriguez-Nieto was not injured in the crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
