NEW SPRINGFIELD MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN MAHONING COUNTY CRASH

The Ohio State Patrol reports that a New Springfield man was seriously injured in a Mahoning County Crash on January 20th.  Brian Zagotti, 26, of New Springfield was travelling north on SR 626 when a pick-up truck pulled out from East Calla Rd. attempting to turn south onto SR 626.  The vehicles collided, causing serious injury to Zagotti.  Ronald Jones, 27, of Youngstown was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

Zagtti was transported by Beaver EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital for reatment.  Jones was not injured in a crash.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023.  The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023.  The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
