Waterville Police Dept. report that a January 14th crash on US 24 resulted in serious injury to a Defiance woman. Kim Behm, 49, was travelling westbound on US 24 when her vehicle was struck head on by an eastbound pick-up truck being operated by James Munoz, 57, of Florida. Munoz claimed that his truck was struck by an unknown vehicle that he claims caused the crash.
Ms. Behm was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment of serious injury. Munoz was not injured in the crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
