Fairborn Police Dept. report that Judy Lynn Moore, 64, of Fairborn was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash on January 18th in Greene County. Ms. Moore was travelling southwest onto North Broad St. from a private drive when her vehicle was struck by a garbage truck. The truck was operated by Branden Coy, 25, of Dayton and owned by Waste Management. Fairborn Police report that Coy ran a red light.
Mr. Moore was transported to Miami Valley South for treatment of serious injuries. Mr. Coy was not injured in the crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2022. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
