The Ohio State Patrol reports that a Mansfield couple was seriously injured in a January 31st crash in Richland County. Cassie Oakley, 65, and Douglas Oakley, 65, of Mansfield were driving southeast on Bowman St., when a northwest bound vehicle drove left of center, colliding with them. Heather Williams, 40, of Shiloh was the operator of the northbound vehicle and was cited for left of center by the Patrol.
The Oakleys were transported by EMS to Ohio Health Mansfield for treatment of serious injuries. Ms. Williams was transported by EMS to Ohio Health, Mansfield for treatment of minor injuries.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
