The Ohio State Patrol reports that a Neville man was seriously injured in a Clermont County crash on January 30th. Tyler Sharp, 31, of Neville was operating a cargo van that was disabled and stopped on US 52. Sharp exited the vehicle and was struck by a northbound pickup truck, operated by Scotty Brogdon, 28, of Statesville, GA. Brodgon was cited by the State Patrol for a violation of assured clear distance ahead.
Mr. Sharp was transported by Air-Care to University Medical Center for treatment of serious injury. Mr. Brogdan was not injured in the crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
