WAVERLY WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SR 32 CRASH

The State Patrol reports that Wanda Hurt, 65, of Waverly was seriously injured in February 1st crash in Jackson County. Ms. Hurt was travelling eastbound on SR 32 when a vehicle heading southbound on Mayhew Road struck her vehicle. That vehicle was being operated by Rebecca Davis, 39, of Jackson. Davis was cited by the Patrol for failure to yield.

Hurt was transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Hospital for treatment of serious injury. Davis was not injured in the crash.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
