WARREN MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN TRUMBULL COUNTY CRASH

The State Patrol reports that a Warren man suffered serious injury in Trumbull County crash on January 28. Maurice Douglas, 48, of Warren was travelling northbound on SR 45 when his vehicle was struck head-on by a southbound vehicle. The southbound vehicle was being operated by Chad Coffee, 43, of Cortland. Coffee was cited by the Patrol for left of center. The Patrol also reports that Coffee may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Douglas was transported by Champion Twp. EMS to Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injury.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 1,862,225 motor vehicle crashes in Ohio in 2023. The Patrol also reports that 6,150 people suffered serious injury due to crashes on Ohio roadways in 2023. The Patrol defines serious injury as an injury that requires medical attention and or hospitalization.
